Quilt by David Taylor
This month we will be quilting! If you don't want to quilt, we will have some binding that needs to be cut and pieced and/or you could work on blocks or cutting for a friendship braid quilt. If you would like to quilt, please bring your sewing machine and your acrylic table attachment if you have one. A neutral thread would be best - as a quilt teacher of mine used to say, "use the colour of dust" as a quilting thread. We will just be stitching in the ditch and doing cross hatch patterns on the quilt tops we have finished, not difficult quilting. Table top quilting is not the best situation, but we need to get these tops quilted (approx.5), so that we can hand them out to those who need them. If you are not too sure about quilting, we can partner you up with a more experienced quilter so that you can work side by side and learn some new tips and tricks - just let us know when you arrive.
We will also fit in our Block of the Month and devotions among the quilting action! For our July block of the month, we are suggesting the colours black, white and red (no flower fabric). If you would like to put a block together on Thursday night, bring these colours along with you.
Alberta Needs Our Help
We all have heard about the flooding in Alberta - please check out this link on how we can help out with our quilting skills.

This is something you can do at home and we will collect them at the July and August meetings and get them sent out to those who are putting them together.
